December 11,2010.
In the past few days in my government class we have been discussing how the process of sending letters to the troops is in success. Our government class has been visiting classes and giving speeches to the the students and encouraging them to write decent letters to the troops giving thanks and appreciating all the great things they have done for our country. Its important to give thanks to our troops because sometimes we don't take the time to let them know how much we appreciate them. The troops are far far away from their country and family and freinds just to protect their country, and all they do for us is fight and battle against our enemies for us. And yet we dont appreciate them enough and show compasion and love to them. So by writing this letter this could show how much we apprecite all their hard work. And hopefully we receive letters back from our troops. So far we have collected approximately 200 letters from students and teachers. Lets see how many more letters we receive!!!!!!!

Plan A
Well what I plan to do to give back to the community is send a letter to at least 3 soliders serving for our country. The reason why I choose to do this is because I know how it might feel when you have no one to talk to. For example my boyfriend will be deployed pretty soon and I also have an uncle and cousin that are serving one is in Afghanistan and the other is in Iraq. They've told me how hard it is to be gone for so long and not even hear from someone. So this could be like a practice for when I do write to them including my boyfriend. They are also part of this world and yet it seems that when they are away we don't notice that they are away and it seems like we forget about them. But they deserve to hear from new people and know how we feel about them and how much we appreciate their service and what they are doing for our country. So I will begin with this by getting an address where I can send letters to our soliders. And then go from there and get people to join in and write a letter to them as well. But this doesn't just need to be a one time only thing we could continue to write to our troops if desired.
