(Terecita Vega)The war in Afghanistan has made no success from the nine years our country has been fighting. The war took action when the terrorist attacked the World Trade Center and thats when our former President George W. Bush decided to go to war with Afghanistan. The attack that the Talibans preformed nine years ago killed many innocent lifes and without reason. It wasn't right for such rage of madness against the innocent lifes of our people. The reasons why the United States entered war nine years ago has lost its reasons of still being in war. The war we are fighting seems to be getting more difficult to be won as time goes by and yet we don't see any progress. Its time for both countrys and their councils to put an end to this war that hasn't made any success, but has only caused deaths of innocent ones. Both countries need to put their differences aside and start making peace with eachother even if this makes the United States look bad.
When I asked my family members what they thought about the war in Afghanistan they responded" We have lost our pathway to win this war, we have lost the reasons why we are still in war fighting, we need to put a complete stop to all this outrage, and madness". The war our troops have been fighting have been eternal and without any sucess. Only our soliders fighting this war really know how it feels like being in war and how it is out there far away from what they love. They're the ones out in the desserts, towns, villages, streets, alleys fighting but without direction. At first our troops were sent out to war because of the terrorist attack in September 11, 2001 and now it seems like we are fighting against the Talibans for the protection of Afghan people. Our country can not afford to be in war any much longer, this war has put our country in MAJOR DEBT! Yet we are fighting for their people, when we should be using all that money being used in war for our countries benefit to fix our economy. Like I mentioned earlier, "we have forgotten why we are in war". We should've made our point nice and clear for Afghanistan to understand why we are in war, but yet we are not. In the opinion of the people that I interviewed they thought that "its time for the end of this war, neither side will win from what it seems". The United States needs to focus more on making our economy better and making a date for our troops to come back home. The U.S needs to be self-fish for once and not care about what other nations think of our nation. Just because we pull out of this war it doesn't mean we are failures it just means that it was time to come home. The war in Afghanistan needs an END to it.
Ms. Vega – Did we declare war on Afghanistan or War on Terror? Al Qaeda and the Taliban are different, but they share similar views on the Western world. Good point, our soldiers on the ground are really the only ones knowing what is happening. What else about your conversation? Did anything surprise you? Also, what do you mean by our point nice and clear? Are you referring to our objectives in Afghanistan? Overall this is good work, but there are many spelling and grammatical errors.
